This device is an innovative version of a regular orthotic which aims to both prevent the formation of bunions and also offer pain relief for people already suffering with the condition. Bunions (Hallux Abducto Valgus) Deformity, is a degenerative ailment which is irreversible, however, my design aims to offer pain relief to sufferers previously only achievable through the implementation of surgery which is both costly and requires prolonged recovery time. I am currently designing this product as my year 12 design and technology ‘Major Design Project’ and this prize money would be extremely helpful in funding the project itself and any future developments of the product into the market place after its completion.

Imagine your driving at night and then "OH NOES" a car come from the other way with its new fancy lights (or any lights) shinning straight at you. this is a problem because your vision becomes less than normal as your eyes adjust to the new bright light, also the direction of the light usualy lights up your car and you can only just see the road for about 20m infront of you on average. now if we can use eletronics to create luminous holographic images why cant we use the same technology to block light. unfortunatly this idea will probably take the processing power of a good computer but should work. this innovation uses lazers and a window that can pinpoint an area and dim light coming from that area. this works as following

a lazer (probably something like infared so it wont affect the driver) mounted on your rear veiw mirror detects where your face is (adjust the mirror depending on the size of the person) this acts with another lazer mounted somwhere on the front of the car to pinpoints the position on the front windscreen and then dims the light in that area.

and here's the briliance of the idea

because the stronger light is blocked out your eyes will adjust to the lesser light at that time, for this reason you will be able to see more at night then you would usualy be able too!

this would also work during the day, blocking out strong reflecting light from shiny buildings or polished cars, also if this technology is improved it could be used as sun glasses, allowing you to not only wear them inside and outside but still keeping your eyes from being damaged by strong lights.

ok, so your going camping and you tire yourself out pumping up the airbed before you even get started on the fun, now if you can deflate it by just stitting on it then why cant you inflate it. the idea is around using a canvas bag with a zipper, you spin the bag around a few times till its filled with air, zip it up so its sealed and then plug it into your deflated air bed and then just sit on the airbag to inflate the airbed. if you want your bed inflateded more then just get a few friends to sit on it with you, if you run out of air on the first run then simply unplug, fill it with air again and then continue to sit on it as it does all the work for you

I HATE washing! And so do millions around the world.
Washing clothes has been that inevitable part of everyday living for centuries AND it’s been eighty years since the last improvement to washing clothes was invented, it’s time to UPDATE.
My idea is to combine all aspects of washing into one, that is, from pre-soaking, to washing, drying, to ironing and lastly, to sorting.
Image this scene, you’re about to have a shower so you arrange your newly innovated clothes rack that allowed you to put the clothes that have taken off, neatly and flat into it. Next you transfer your clothes rank to the new washing machine, because your clothes are lined neatly and flat you are able to place many racks side by side with in the washing machine. Your washing machine does not need a power hungry agitator because this machine uses jets of water to blast dirt from you clothes. Once the cleaning cycle has completed your clothes are pressed together (not spun) to remove excess water, this press action to remove water requires much less energy that machines of today use to spin. Next is the drying stage, instead of individually hanging your clothes on the clothes line you only have to attach the rack that holds many clothes thus reducing time to hang clothes, plus this could be automated because the racks are a predefined shape that allow for standard attachments. The clothes line is also a space saver by positioning the racks vertically and upward, thus reducing space, important for ever increasing shared living arrangements. Because of the modular clothes line shelter can be added to shield against wet weather. Removing the clothes from the line is just as easy as putting them up. Next is the ironing stage, this is also very easy to do because the clothes are already **** flat, so just reinsert the clothes into the same washing machine that washed them and select the ironing stage, the machines basically irons the clothes from both sides in one step. Finally remove the racks from the machine open them and distribute the clothes back to the draws and cupboards they come from. The only thing it want do is fold your clothes, but that’s for the next evolution. The whole process could be automatic if the washing machine lived outdoors.

Currently in NSW and other states, Learner drivers are required to complete 120 driving hours before they are able to sit the P's test. The only way that is offered to record and present this data is a pen and paper logbook which takes hours and hours to complete. Imagine all of this data taking care of itself with the simple press of a button on your iPhone. I have developed an application that is capable of this. Using the iPhones inbuilt GPS, the application LDROG is able to record and present all driving data and then send it to your email to be printed off and handed in. A lot easier. Thankyou technology.
