Bunion Prevention / Pain-Relief Orthotics
This device is an innovative version of a regular orthotic which aims to both prevent the formation of bunions and also offer pain relief for people already suffering with the condition. Bunions (Hallux Abducto Valgus) Deformity, is a degenerative ailment which is irreversible, however, my design aims to offer pain relief to sufferers previously only achievable through the implementation of surgery which is both costly and requires prolonged recovery time. I am currently designing this product as my year 12 design and technology ‘Major Design Project’ and this prize money would be extremely helpful in funding the project itself and… more

Anti-Bright Car Windscreen
Imagine your driving at night and then "OH NOES" a car come from the other way with its new fancy lights (or any lights) shinning straight at you. this is a problem because your vision becomes less than normal as your eyes adjust to the new bright light, also the direction of the light usualy lights up your car and you can only just see the road for about 20m infront of you on average. now if we can use eletronics to create luminous holographic images why cant we use the same technology to block light. unfortunatly this idea will… more

All in One clothes washer
I HATE washing! And so do millions around the world.
Washing clothes has been that inevitable part of everyday living for centuries AND it’s been eighty years since the last improvement to washing clothes was invented, it’s time to UPDATE.
My idea is to combine all aspects of washing into one, that is, from pre-soaking, to washing, drying, to ironing and lastly, to sorting.
Image this scene, you’re about to have a shower so you arrange your newly innovated clothes rack that allowed you to put the clothes that have taken off, neatly and flat into it. Next you transfer… more37 votes -
Auto Ringtone
when you receive a call your phone takes 1-2 seconds and records the sound level, if everything is quiet then the ringtone will either be quieter than usual or it will change to something of a quiet nature (clasical for example) and if the phone finds that its really lound then it will either get louder or use a louder musical choice and if the noise is too loud for the phone to compete with then it will vibrate.

Automatic Dog Wash
Similar to an automatic laser car wash. The automatic dog wash is of smaller scale, passing a ring of jets over the dog, back and forth, distributing first dog wash (selection available includes flea rinse, medicated wash, regular etc), then clean rinse water, jets to dry, then cologne to smell nice.

An iPad for daycare centres with virtual paints that can be emailed to parents
A tablet of some description (think iPad) that is distributed to daycare centres. The tablet allows kids to use a paint brush and virtual paint pots to paint on it. Once the their painting is complete it automatically gets emailed to their parents. The Kids also video themselves while painting and the video is sent to their parents. This is a great introduction for kids to the idea of narrative and story telling

Learner Driver Log - iPhone application
Currently in NSW and other states, Learner drivers are required to complete 120 driving hours before they are able to sit the P's test. The only way that is offered to record and present this data is a pen and paper logbook which takes hours and hours to complete. Imagine all of this data taking care of itself with the simple press of a button on your iPhone. I have developed an application that is capable of this. Using the iPhones inbuilt GPS, the application LDROG is able to record and present all driving data and then send it to… more

Did you know!
Did you know that there are bad foods that are being consumed by your kids, this website can tell you what the item is and when it has been taken off the shelves.
Why not put this website on all the school websites so parents can find out easier.

Homework that LITERALLY does itself.
An electronic pad that a student can take home with their homework (eg. Math questions), and interact with it (attached electronic pen to draw on it) and the program has options of explaining the equation or showing working. Used under parental supervision (so as not to cheat) a student can learn how to do their homework which ever way suits them. It could be called a E-MC (Electronic Mini Computer).
